Course Overview
Clear aligner therapy continues to grow in patient demand — but predictable outcomes require more than software approval or appliance delivery. Successful treatment depends on accurate diagnosis, appropriate case selection, biomechanical understanding, careful prescription writing, patient communication, and structured clinical monitoring.
This two-day continuing education course provides a practical, evidence-informed introduction to clear aligner orthodontics for general dentists. Participants will review orthodontic diagnosis, treatment-planning principles, aligner biomechanics, attachment protocols, IPR considerations, digital workflows, case submission processes, and clinical management strategies.
The course is led by Dr. Mostafa Altalibi, DMD, D.Ortho, FRCD(C), a certified orthodontist, international lecturer, and educator in clear aligner therapy.

- Develop a structured approach to treatment planning, including clinical objectives, risk assessment, sequencing, patient expectations, and communication.

Apply Clinical Protocols Hands-On
- Participate in practical exercises involving attachments, IPR demonstration, digital workflow, case submission, and treatment-planning review.
Manage and Finish Cases Responsibly
- Understand monitoring appointments, refinements, troubleshooting, finishing protocols, retention planning, and post-treatment considerations.
Evaluate malocclusion, crowding, spacing, bite relationships, midlines, arch form, and case complexity
Identify appropriate cases for general practice and recognize when referral or specialist collaboration is warranted
Create structured objectives based on diagnosis, risk factors, patient expectations, and clinical limitations
Understand movement predictability, attachment design, staging, anchorage, IPR planning, and tracking issues
Scanning, records collection, case submission, prescription communication, and treatment plan evaluation
Patient visits, progress evaluation, compliance assessment, troubleshooting, refinements, and finishing
Consent, alternatives, risks, timelines, compliance, retention, and referral considerations
