Master Fundamentals in a Comprehensive 3-Day Endodontic Course
Course Overview
This intensive course provides comprehensive training in evidence-based diagnosis, treatment planning, and procedures related to all dental pulp pathologies.
Led by experienced instructors, our three-day course is designed to help dental professionals learn the skills to diagnose and treat endodontic diseases, assess treatment outcomes, and navigate treatment options. By receiving hands-on experience supervised by expert instructors, you will gain the confidence to perform high-quality endodontics, ensuring adequate retention and stability of all your restorations.
Day 1
We will start this course with focused lectures on navigating root canal procedures, from diagnosis to final outcomes. You’ll also learn the principles of successful treatment planning, conveying treatment options to patients, and carrying out procedures with consistent results.
In the second half of the day, you will learn how to perform endodontic access preparations on 4-7 naturally extracted teeth using a special typodont.
Day 2
You will learn how to carry out cleaning and shaping on transparent teeth and naturally extracted teeth using multiple systems.
Day 3
You will pick up form where you left off on Day 2, performing obturations and post and core treatments.
This continuing education course is intended to help both novice and experienced dentists in diagnosing endodontic diseases using appropriate techniques, ensuring your dental procedures are of the highest quality. You will leave this course with the confidence and know-how to immediately add this profitable procedure to your clinical repertoire – in a way that will benefit your practice and your patients.

Course Objectives
By the end of this course, learners will be able to
- Demonstrate proficiency in diagnosing endodontic diseases through adequate knowledge of diagnostic techniques and tests.
- Assess and differentiate between successful and failed endodontic treatments, understanding the factors contributing to both outcomes.
- Compare root canal therapy (RCT) and dental implants in terms of advantages and disadvantages, utilizing informed decision-making for appropriate treatment planning.
- Implement effective strategies to manage post-operative endodontic sequels, including the proper use of common antibiotics and analgesics.
- Understand the importance of coronal restorations, including post and core, and crowns, to ensure the longevity and stability of endodontically treated teeth.
- Apply various endodontic systems, such as rotary/reciprocating, single Vs. multiple files system, to perform cleaning and shaping procedures accurately and efficiently.
- Successfully access and treat molars, focusing on thorough instrumentation and effective disinfection.
- Perform a minimum of 10 additional root canal therapies on extracted anterior, premolar, and molar teeth, enhancing technical skills and confidence.
- Perform obturation using the GuttaCore system and warm vertical condensation, achieving optimal seal and three-dimensional filling of the root canal system.
- Operate an advanced dental microscope, specifically the CJ-Optik Microscope System, to enhance visualization and precision during endodontic procedures.
- Develop proficiency in chairside positioning and approaches to different teeth while conducting root canal therapy.
- Execute a complete root canal therapy on a simulated tooth with transparent roots, demonstrating understanding of the entire treatment process.
- Apply proper techniques for post and core placement, ensuring adequate retention and stability of restorations.
- Identify and avoid common mistakes and complications that may occur before and during endodontic procedures, promoting safe and effective treatment outcomes.
- Maintain ethical principles and professional integrity when communicating endodontic faults/errors to patients.
- Communicate effectively with patients in a Canadian cultural context, fostering a patient-centered approach throughout the entire endodontic treatment process, including pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative stages.
CE course candidates not registered with the RCDSO cannot claim continuing education credits for any continuing education completed before their date of registration with the RCDSO.
