Dr. Ziad Omar is a long-time resident of Mississauga. After attending Applewood Heights Secondary School, Dr. Omar was admitted to the University of Toronto where he received his Bachelor of Science in Biology and Anthropology in 1994. He was placed on the Dean’s Honor list and received several awards and scholarships. Upon finishing his degree, Dr. Omar was accepted into the Faculty of Dentistry at the University of Toronto and earned a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree with High Distinction. Following his graduation from the Faculty of Dentistry, Dr. Omar completed an optional General Practice Residency at the Hospital For Sick Children where he was trained in the dental management of children and adolescents.

After working for several years as a general dentist, Dr. Omar returned to Graduate School and earned a Master of Clinical Dentistry in Orthodontics from the University of Western Ontario. He was also awarded a Fellowship with the Royal College of Dentists of Canada. Dr. Omar holds a dual license in Ontario as a general dentist and a certified specialist in Orthodontics. Dr. Omar is registered as a Certified Specialist in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics with the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario AND the Royal College of Dentists of Canada. He remains active in teaching orthodontics as an Adjunct Clinical Professor with the Division of Pediatric Dentistry and Orthodontics at the University of Western Ontario. Dr. Omar is a Certified Invisalign Provider. He remains up to date at the forefront of his specialty through attending regular continuing education courses and conventions. He is also an active member of many organizations including the Canadian Association of Orthodontists, The Ontario Association of Orthodontists, The Ontario Dental Association, Halton-Peel Dental Association, The Canadian Dental Association, SA Dental Association, Great Lakes Orthodontic Society, and The American Association of Orthodontists. Dr. Omar is the Past President of the Toronto Orthodontic Study Club, an organization that is dedicated to the scientific advancement of orthodontic education.
